Most compact tractors wear industrial type tires when they are shipped, but that doesn’t mean it right for everyone who uses them. Make sure you understand the needs of your compact tractor tire customers so you can recommend the right tire for them.

Turf tires. These tires are specifically designed for use on lawns and grass to minimize soil compaction so grass roots can breathe. The absence of tread bars eliminates indentations that destroy turf and allow equipment to float over lawns for an easy, smooth ride.  It’s the tire professional lawn keepers rely on to retain maximum beauty and health of the turf they manage. Firestone turf tires incorporate the latest tread design and technologies to protect and preserve the appearance of turf — even wet turf — rather than digging into and destroying it.

Industrial tires. This tire tread is made to grip a variety of surfaces and serves as a compromise between the field and turf tire tread designs. Industrial tire traction bars are wider and shallower than field tires, yet more pronounced and aggressive than turf tires.  It is the right tire choice for rugged duty and where the long-term beauty and health of turf are not a primary concern.

Field tires. Deep, prominent tread bars make this tire best where maximum traction is desired. Because of its deep, aggressive tread, it is the most destructive tire for lawns and turf applications, but the most preferred tire for heavy duty work situations where traction and pull are important.
